A home inspection:

Is an inspection and written evaluation of a structure and these components of a residential building: HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical system, foundation, roof, masonry and structural components.
The home inspection is a supplement to the property disclosure statement.  A home inspection tests the normal operation of devices designed for everyday use.  A written report is provided to the client, which describes the systems and components that were inspected in accordance with the SD Real Estate Commission and InterNachi standards of practice, and what components inspected were found to need immediate or major repair.
